Spring is finally here in Louisiana. It is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy our local waterways, parks, and green spaces. However, as we spend more time outdoors, we also notice the litter and illegal dumping that hurts our community.
This April, we have a massive opportunity to fix that.
Atlas Electronics Recycling is thrilled to participate in Love the Boot Week. This is Louisiana's largest statewide cleanup effort, and there are many ways for you to get involved right here in Livingston Parish.
Free Dumpster Day (April 18th)
To make cleaning up as easy as possible, Atlas Electronics Recycling is proud to be one of the corporate sponsors for the Free Dumpster Event Day on April 18th hosted by the Livingston Parish Government.
This is your chance to clear out your house, garage, and storage unit for free. Here is what you need to know for the April 18th drop-off:
What you CAN bring: Old electronics, furniture, appliances, and tires (limit of 5 tires per person, no rims).
What is NOT allowed: Business debris, construction materials, fencing, and regular household garbage.
Requirement: You must bring a valid Louisiana ID to participate.

Get Involved: Volunteer in Your Community
The Free Dumpster Event Day is just one part of Love the Boot Week. Throughout the week, there are numerous other cleanup events happening across the parish.
These community groups need volunteers to help pick up litter and restore our local green spaces. We highly encourage you to find a local cleanup crew and donate a few hours of your time. It is a fantastic way to meet your neighbors and make a highly visible difference in our hometown!

4. Milton Rd Cleanup with Atlas Electronics Recycling
4/19 10:00 AM - 30716 - 30674 Milton Rd, Walker, LA 70785
We'll be sponsoring a cleanup event on Milton Rd to collect litter, dumped items, and other debris along the roadside heading south. We've received permission from Charles Milton (a descendant of the person who originally built the road) and his wife to use the end of his driveway for parking and coordination.
I'll be bringing supplies such as trash bags, gloves, and a trailer to haul the trash away. I don't have very many grabber arms for the trash, though, so if people could bring their own, that would be great. We'll do some BBQ afterwards to feed the volunteers! Please RSVP so we can bring enough for everyone!
